Basketball coach hopes to inspire kids after shooting in park
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police are looking for whoever fired a gun during the Dirt Bowl Basketball Tournament Sunday night in Douglass Park.
Officers say they don’t know how many suspects they’re looking for because of conflicting statements from people who were there.
Police say at least three people were shot and two others showed up separately at the hospital with gunshot wounds.
One of the victims is in critical condition, according to police. We’re told the four others weren’t wounded as severely.
Police tape still scattered the basketball courts Monday morning.
Watch the video to see how one person, who grew up going to the tournament, hopes to help inspire change and non-violence in future generations.
