Barktoberfest returns to Hamburg Saturday

LEXINGTON, Ky (WTVQ) – Paws 4 the Cause, a Central Kentucky animal rescue group, held their annual Barktoberfest fundraiser event at the Hamburg Liquor Barn today.

Barktoberfest is a pet friendly gathering that sees animal adoptions, vendors, food trucks, live music, and even a pet psychic. All funds raised at the event go to Paws 4 the Cause’s vet costs and the building of their upcoming spade and neuter clinic.

Founder and President Remy Simpson told ABC 36 about what keeps his organization going.

“I have a passion for helping animals. I can’t pass by an animal in trouble. And anybody working in our organization will tell you the same thing. If there’s an animal out there somewhere that’s suffering than we gotta do something about it,” Simpson said.

On December 4th, Paws 4 the Cause will hold their Pawhibition event at the Lyric Theater.
