LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Paul Laurence Dunbar is searching for a new head boy’s basketball coach after George Baker resigned from his post, the school announced on Tuesday.
Baker spent one season as the head coach of the Bulldogs leading his alma mater to 3-27 record and a first round exit in the 43rd District Tournament.
“Being the Dunbar basketball coach was an opportunity I dreamed of for a long time,” said Baker in a social media post announcing the news. “I love the program, the players, and every day that I walked into the gym was an awesome experience. At this time I need to be able to focus my time and energy on myself and my family, but this has not been an easy decision to make.”
Dunbar will look to find its third head coach in as many years after former head man Murray Garvin left the program following the 2022-2023 season.
