Back-to-back robberies may have same suspect

Lexington, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police investigate back-to-back robberies in Lexington and say the same person may be behind both.

The first robbery happened at the Marathon on South Broadway at 1:50 a.m.

Police say a man wearing a hoodie with his face covered pulled a gun and demanded cash.

He took off after getting it.

Then, less than a half hour later, the Shell Station on Nicholasville Road was robbed.

Police say a suspect, also wearing a hoodie with his face covered, came in with a gun and demanded cash.

In both robberies, K9 lost the scent not too far from the scene.
