“The Lexington Community has responded to our call for assistance this week by donating in a big way to our auction and we are grateful.  Now, we need everyone to come out and begin their Christmas shopping, maybe buying a few things for themselves, says John Durr, President of the Lexington Fraternal Order of Firefighters.

The auction was named for fallen Firefighter, Chuck Williams.

Chuck Williams was a Lexington Fire Department firefighter who was killed February 17, 1997 when he and a fellow firefighter fell through the floor of a burning house.

For years, Chuck had worked on his days off at WD Auctions, and in his memory his employer and fellow workers decided to hold an auction to benefit the FOF Firefighter Toy Program.

This auction held in memory of Chuck has been the largest form of fundraising for the Toy Program for the last 17 years.

The Auction will be held at 1713 Jaggie Fox Way, off of Sandersville Road in the Corrisoft Building.  Doors open at Noon and the auction will begin at 2:00 pm.

At 11:30 am the Annual Firefighter Chili Cook Off will take place.  Over 12 entries this year will be judged by Twitch(ZROCK), ZRock On Air Personalities, Bill Johnson(President of Corrisoft).  The award winning Firefighter Chili will be served to all who attend.  Admission is $5.00 or a toy donation.  All proceeds benefit the Firefighter Toy Program.

Those in the community that wish to donate toys to the program, can drop them off at any Lexington Fire Station between now and December 11th

Toys should be new, unwrapped and appropriate for ages newborn to 12 years old.

A fantastic and fun way to do a little Christmas shopping and spend time with your family in the process!
