Attendance up at farm machinery show in Ky.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The Kentucky State Fair Board says this year’s National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville drew the second-highest attendance in the event’s long history.
The Fair Board said Wednesday that attendance reached 310,589 for the indoor ag trade show from Feb. 11-14 at the Kentucky Exposition Center. Attendees included exhibitors and agribusiness professionals.
This year’s attendance was up more than 16,000 from last year.
Show managers say more than 850 exhibitors filled the 1.2 million square feet of exhibit space. Exhibitors included delegations from Argentina, Italy, Germany, England and China.
The National Farm Machinery Show started in 1966 when a few hundred farmers, salesmen and crop experts gathered in Louisville to organize a farm show.
Planning will soon get underway for next year’s show, set for Feb. 10-13 in Louisville.
