Covington attempted murder suspect arrested in Lexington
COVINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) -Police in Covington say they have made an arrest in connection to an assault with a “samurai” type sword.
According to officers, the incident happened around 2:00 a.m. on February 6, when they were called on a report of an assault with injuries on Holman Avenue. When they got there, police say the victim told them she had gotten into an argument with a man, that escalated to the point that he attempted to cut her head off with the sword. He also struck the woman in the arm, causing serious injury, according to officers.
Police say they were able to determine that the suspect was 39-year-old Terry Phillips, but he could not be found. Investigators contacted the Lexington Police Department with addresses where Phillips might be. Officers say they were able to track down Phillips in Lexington, and arrested him on Tuesday.
