Attempted iPhone sale turns into robbery

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – He thought he would get a sale but instead, one man got taken.

Police say the man posted his iPhone for sale on Facebook and was contacted by someone named “Chris Jones” who said he wanted to buy it.

According to court documents, the two agreed to meet at a home on Boxwood Drive in Lexington to sell the phone back on October 9th.

Once he got to the address, the victim says two men came up to him and started looking over the iPhone. He says one of the men pulled out a handgun, pointed it at him, took the iPhone and asked what else he had.

Documents say the victim handed over cash and a necklace and the two suspects ran off.

The victim showed police Jones’ Faceook page and they tracked him down.

Jones is charged with robbery.
