AT&T hiring 120 people in Kentucky

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — AT&T wants to hire 120 people in Kentucky.

The telecommunications company says it has job openings across the state. Job postings include a store manager in Louisville, a retail sales consultant in Somerset and a wire technician in Beattyville.

Company officials say the job announcements are in response to increased demand for wireless and modern wired technologies.

The state legislature passed a law last month that stopped requiring telecommunications companies like AT&T from maintaining traditional landline services in urban areas. The law was opposed by some consumer protection advocates over fears it would restrict some people’s access to telephone service. But AT&T officials said no one who already has a landline will lose it.
