LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Asia Boone’s last game of her sophomore season was against the team she now will suit up for; Kentucky.

The Liberty transfer comes to Lexington as a Head Coach Kenny Brooks’ latest pickup for his UK women’s basketball team. She joins fellow transfer Josie Gilvin on the roster for the Wildcats in 2025.

In two seasons with the Flames, Boone played in over 60 games and was one of Conference USA’s most highly touted young players.

Last season in Lynchburg, the guard averaged ten points, three rebounds and one assist per game on the way to winning the Conference USA title with her team.

From the field, she shot 40 percent which was an improvement from shooting 36 percent her freshman year.

Boone and the Flames also beat Gilvin and her former team, Western Kentucky, twice last season. Boone had a combined 17 points versus the Lady Tops.

But, against UK in the 2025 NCAA Tournament First Round, she only played five minutes registering a point and a rebound.

When the California native was quick to get to work as a freshman though.

Boone has several CUSA first year honors to her name, most notably Freshman of the Year and being an All-Freshman Team selection.

The Flames record book also had its fair share of additions after she stepped on campus.

Boone set numerous high marks in her first collegiate season including hitting 63 threes (No. 2 all time for Liberty freshman) and being the first freshman to score 20 points in a conference tournament in four years.
