LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Plans for UK’s $120 million dollar renovation were unveiled on Thursday, showcasing the new synthetic field to be installed at the renovated Commonwealth Stadium at the University of Kentucky.
Featuring a new interlocking logo in the center, checkerboard end zones and matching team areas, this new surface will be made of the same materials that the 2014 Super Bowl was played on, according to school officials.
The new surface is scheduled to be in by July. The first home game is September 5, against UL Lafayette.
