Arsonist suspected in 3 local fires
(WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police reported three fires across central Kentucky and believe the same person may be behind all three.
The first fire was set in Garrard County on Friday. The investigation shows the building was burglarized around 11:30 a.m., just before the fire was set. The building had smoke and water damage, but was not destroyed.
The second was a few hours later in Jessamine County, near Wilmore. Police say this home was also burglarized prior to the fire, and the home destroyed.
Today, a third fire was set in Nicholasville on Woods Road. The initial investigation indicates that this residence was also burglarized before being set on fire. Crews say the residence is severely damaged.
State Police said they believe a person is knocking on doors to see if anyone is home, and may be starting a fire if no one answers.
If you have any information, or saw anything suspicious in those areas, please call State Police to aid them in their investigation.
