Arrested man escapes, is re-captured, in Garrard Co.

LANCASTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man had to be recaptured twice after an arrest in Garrard Co. on Monday.

The Garrard Co. Sheriff says deputies were called out to Lakeview Drive about a man who had broken into a home.  Investigators say when they got there, they took 31-year-old Jason lear of Lancaster into custody.  As they left the scene, however, deputies say Lear complained about a pain in his leg.  When they stopped to check on him, investigators say Lear escaped from the cruiser and ran off into a field off Old Danville Road.

The Sheriff says multiple law enforcement officials responded to help look for Lear.  He was eventually found, but had to be tasered to get him back into custody.  Lear was finally taken back to the deputy’s cruiser and brought to the Lincoln Co. Detention Center.  Lear, however, was not finished.

During the booking process, deputies say Lear managed to escape from the detention center.  Lear was eventually captured by Lincoln Co. authorities after additional, unspecified, criminal events.  Lear was charged with burglary, escape, fleeing and evading, as well as resisting arrest.  The Sheriff says Lancaster Police will also be filing charges.
