Arrest made in two Lexington robberies

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Police have arrested 27-year-old Lech Yanicko in connection to two robberies, one at the Kroger in Tates Creek Centre and one at the Walgreens in Hamburg.

Police say a man walked into the Kroger in Tates Creek Centre on January 11th, and threatened employees with a rifle while robbing the store.

As he left, police say he also pepper sprayed employees.

Later, as police were investigating another similar robbery at the Walgreens in Hamburg, they found a car parked there matching the description of one leaving Kroger after that robbery.

That car belonged to Lech Yanicko, who police interviewed that night.

He claimed that he was just a witness to the robbery.

After searching his car, police found pepper spray and clothes connecting him to the robberies.
