Arrest made in mail thefts in two counties
POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Powell County Sheriff’s Department announced Friday that one person is under arrest for mail thefts in two counties.
According to investigators, someone called Powell County 911 around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, saying she was following a person she spotted removing mail from a mail box in Montgomery County.
The person told dispatchers the suspect was heading toward Powell County.
Powell County Sheriff Danny Rogers and a detective located the suspect vehicle on Campton Road.
They say they spoke to the driver, Jamie Renee Hall, who admitted to stealing mail in Powell and Montgomery Counties.
They say Hall also told them she started stealing mail before Thanksgiving.
Hall is charged with possession of stolen mail matter but investigators say more charges are expected.
