Arrest made in Newtown Pike shooting death
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Police have made an arrest in connection to the December 26, 2024, shooting death of 63-year-old Maurice Elliot on Newtown Pike.
According to police, Shawn Blanks, 54, was taken into custody on Tuesday, and charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He’s being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
According to the Lexington Police Department, Blanks was identified as the suspect by using the department’s Real-Time Intelligence Center.
Blanks was Bluegrass Crime Stoppers’ Most Wanted Person of the Week on January 15th.
