Arrest made in armed credit card theft
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington police said they took a man into custody in connection to an armed robbery back in May.
Police said 18-year-old Ta’Marcus Jamell Howard and a juvenile robbed a man at gunpoint along Bold Bidder Drive on May 18 then drove off in a dark SUV.
The two then tried to buy snacks at the Marathon on Trent Boulevard with the man’s credit card shortly after the robbery, according to police.
They said they two couldn’t because the victim reported it stolen right after he was robbed.
According to court documents, police received several anonymous tips after surveillance video from the store was shown on television and on social media and police were able to identify Howard and the juvenile as the suspects.
Documents said the juvenile turned himself in and was charged with robbery and fraudulent use of a credit card.
Howard is also charged with robbery and fraudulent use of a credit card.
