Arrest made in 2016 Lexington hotel robbery

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Police have arrested 39-year-old Gregory Smith, after they say he robbed the Howard Johnson Hotel in December of 2016.

According to police, Smith walked into the hotel and handed the front desk employee a note claiming he had a gun.

Police say he then reached into the cash register and stole $500 before running out of the building.

Police were able to identify him through surveillance video.
