UPDATE: Visitation starts Thursday, funeral Saturday for firefighter

PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – The funeral for a popular Johnson County firefighter and first responder are set for late this week.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Johnson Central High School Gymnasium, for 41-year-old Brian Moore, who died early Tuesday from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.
Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Park in Staffordsville, Kentucky.
Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 5-9:00 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at Johnson Central High School. Masonic Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Jason Ison will officiate.
According to his obituary, Moore, who was married to Beverly Hewlett Moore and was the father of two children, Tori and Kaylen Moore, was the son of Dewey and Kay Moore. He died at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, West Virginia.
He was born on July 4, 1979 in West Liberty, Kentucky. He graduated high school in Sandy Hook, Kentucky and later pursued a career in the Fire/EMS field. He served for the last several years as a paramedic/fire fighter for the Paintsville Fire Department and fire instructor for KCTCS state fire and rescue. He also served as the Chapter 28 President of Brother’s Keepers Motorcycle Club.
“Brian lived for his family, his community, and for his friends. He had a compassion to serve. No matter if it was entering a burning building, rescuing people by boat, or just placing a bandage on, he showed up. He loved his motorcycle and riding with his brothers and sisters, usually for charity. Most of all, he just loved life,” his obituary reads.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced for a well-known Paintsville firefighter as the community continues to mourn his death.
Brian Moore, who started his career in Elliott County where his father also had worked, died early Tuesday from injuries he suffered Monday in a motorcycle accident. His body was returned Tuesday from CAMC General Hospital in Charleston, W. Va., where he’d been taken following the crash.
The 41-year-old Moore was a first responder for 13 years and was president of the Paintsville-based My Brothers Keeper Motorcycle Club for firefighters and other first responders.
Phelps and Son Funeral Home in Paintsville is handling arrangements.
According to social media posts, he grew up wanting to be a firefighter and first responder because he always wanted to help others. His father also was a first responder and Brian followed in his footsteps.
And tributes have poured in from other departments with which he worked.
“We are heartbroken today with the loss of Brian Moore. Many here at Elliott County 911 and Elliott County EMS watched Brian grow up. We watch him work and strive to become a Medic and Firefighter. I can remember at a young age that is all he wanted to do. He lived his dream. You will be missed. Please say a pray for his wife Beverly, kids, his dad and mom, Dewey and Kay, all of his EMS and Firefighter families and friends. We love you and will miss you,” Elliott County 911 said of the Johnson County firefighter.
