Two suspects arrested in Laurel County carjacking involving woman and toddler

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Two people accused of carjacking a woman and her two-year-old grandchild at gunpoint in September are now behind bars.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, 25-year-old Trenton Morgan was arrested Sunday on charges of robbery and wanton endangerment. Deputies say 27-year-old Kristen Mosley was taken into custody earlier this month in Knox County.

Investigators say the pair allegedly pulled a gun on the woman and her grandchild before forcing them out of their vehicle on Powers Lane on September 28. The suspects then sped off, according to the sheriff’s office.

Mosley is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Tuesday morning at 11, while Morgan’s arraignment is set for Wednesday morning at 9.

Both remain in custody as the investigation continues.
