Armed and dangerous suspect captured after Harrodsburg pursuit
Jesse Mayberry arrested after fleeing traffic stop and crash
HARRODSBURG, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Harrodsburg police have captured Jesse Mayberry, a man considered armed and dangerous following a series of events early New Year’s Day.
According to a Facebook post from Harrodsburg police, officers conducted a traffic stop around 2 a.m. on January 1 for a suspected impaired driver. During the stop, Mayberry, a resident of Danville and Lexington, allegedly assaulted an officer and fled the scene.
A car chase followed along Burgin Road but ended due to the suspect’s dangerous driving. Officers later found Mayberry’s car involved in a single-vehicle crash on Kennedy Bridge Road, he then ran from the crash site.
Two passengers were also located in the vehicle, with one arrested on outstanding narcotics trafficking warrants.
Police have now confirmed Mayberry was captured and taken into custody without incident.
