AppHarvest donation to food pantry part of ongoing effort

MOREHEAD, Ky. (WTVQ) – A start-up company that is helping redefine food production also is helping redefine community outreach.

AppHarvest was joined Thursday  by Congressman Andy Barr and State Agriculture Commissioner Dr. Ryan Quarles for a donation of tomatoes to God’s Pantry Food Bank in Morehead.

The donation is from the AppHarvest greenhouse facility in Rowan County.

And it’s part of regular contributions the company is making to help fight hunger in the region.
