Apparent murder-suicide in Morehead

MOREHEAD, Ky. (WTVQ) – Morehead Police and the Rowan County coroner are investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving an elderly man and woman.

According to a post on the coroner’s Facebook page, Morehead 911 received a call at 5:02 p.m. on Friday, August 13, 2021, from a woman reporting she found two people dead at a home on Rodburn Hollow Road.

Coroner John Northcutt’s social media post says the victims were identified as 75-year old Vada Sargent and 81-year old Cobern Sargent.

No other information was immediately released.  The case remains under investigation.
