Apartment damaged after fire in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Firefighters were called out around 11:30 a.m. Monday to Daly Place to take on a fire in an apartment building.
According to firefighters, the flames were pouring out of the side of the building when they arrived. Most of the fire occurred in the void area between the first and second floor, firefighters say.
Power was cut to the building, so firefighters could more effectively battle the flames. Firefighters say there was moderate to heavy damage in one unit, particularly to the floor joists to the second floor of the building.
No one was home at the time of the fire, and no damage was reported to the other units in the building.
Investigators are on the scene trying to determine the cause.
