Anti-DEI bill moving forward in Kentucky legislature

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A bill to remove DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) programs from public colleges in the state is moving forward.

House Bill 4 passed the house yesterday6 81 to 18 and now moves to the state senate.

If passed into law, the bill would prohibit spending on DEI initiatives and would require state public universities to close DEI offices.

It would also eliminate DEI officer positions by June 30 and would prohibit universities from requiring DEI training sessions.
