Another day, another near record for new Fayette COVID cases
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The records or near records continue to mount for new coronavirus cases in Fayette County.
After seeing the highest day on Saturday and the second-highest day Monday, the county set a new second-highest mark Tuesday, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department’s daily morning report Wednesday.
The 184 new cases Tuesday mean the county has seen five of its seven highest days since Nov. 4.
Tuesday’s 184 cases pushed the county’s total to 12,835.
The county also recorded one new death, raising the total number of people lost to coronavirus-related causes to 103.
The county has had 1,502 cases so far in November, according to the Health Department.
The number of reported cases has grown steadily each month during the outbreak:
- 110, March
- 143, April
- 507, May
- 793, June
- 1,702 July
- 2,538, August
- 2,804, September
- 2,736, October
