Another appeal rejected for Kim Davis
ASHLAND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Another appeal, another loss for Rowan Co. Clerk Kim Davis.
A federal appeals court has rejected the latest in a series of appeals by Davis to stay an order requiring her to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
Lawyers for Davis, who opposes issuing the licenses, argued that because most of the couples who sued received their licenses from one of Davis’ Deputies during her time in jail, she should not have to issue any more while the case is pending.
Last week, the appeals court rejected her request because Davis failed to first ask U.S. District Judge David Bunning to stay his order.
On Wednesday, Bunning refused to grant Davis an emergency stay.
