Annual ‘Week of Valor’ in Lexington to honor Lexington veterans
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Lexington’s annual Week of Valor starting this Saturday will celebrate the city’s military veterans.
The Week of Valor will be held from Nov. 4-11 and include events like a Lady Veterans Connect Gala, VA5K, NABVETS Dinner and more.
Veterans Resources United of Central/Southeastern Kentucky, the Kentucky National Association of Black Veterans, Lady Veterans Connect, Disabled American Veterans, the Lexington VA Health Care System and several other organizations will come together to plan the events.
This year marks several important military milestones, including the 245th birthday of the Department of the U.S. Navy and the 75th anniversary of the signing of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act.
Other events not yet announced will be held at Veterans Park and the Camp Nelson Cemetery.
