Annual Hats Off Day

Hats off to Kentucky’s horse industry day is Saturday, July 29, from 4 to 10 p.m. At the Kentucky horse park in Lexington. Hats off day is presented by official partner rood & riddle equine hospital with free admission sponsored by central bank and additional sponsorship by Zoetis, Boehringer Ingelheim and other industry leaders. This year’s theme is “Memories of Man O’ War” in honor of Man O’ War’s 100th birthday and will feature a brief film about the horse racing legend on the Rolex stadium jumbotron.

Hats off day is the only day of the year that admission to the horse park is free. Free admission to the horse park is offered all day, with hats off day festivities (all free) starting at 4 p.m. Hats off day activities include horse rides for adults and pony rides for children, face painting, inflatables, educational booths, and interactive equine stations including mechanical race horses. Free horse farm hats, generously provided by area horse farms and businesses, are given to the first attendees to arrive. Last year more than 1,000 hats were given away!
