Animal Cruelty Seminar Held In Lexington
The Humane Society of the United States and Lexington Police came together on Thursday to host a seminar on combatting animal cruelty.
Several branches of Kentucky law enforcement heard from local and national experts as they discussed current laws and proper procedures for investigating animal cruelty cases. They also focused on handling animal fighting cases, and how to collect evidence. Organizers said the seminar shores up an area of training that often goes unattended.
The H-S-U-S said animal cruelty is often linked to other crimes. Saying that of those arrested for animal crimes, 65-percent have been arrested for battery against another person.
