Animal control finds “kitten throwing” car
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Animal Control in Jessamine County talked to the owner of the car that was allegedly “Throwing cats out the window” on June 2.
Animal control told ABC reporters that the woman driving the car did not know the animals were there. They said the kittens had been in the engine compartment, and the animals had somehow gotten out along the highway, and were possibly jumping from the car.
Animal control concluded that this was not intentional, and there are no charges being filed. They are ruling this as accidental.
Small animals are attracted to enclosed spaces like wheel wells and engine compartments when shelter is needed – not just from the cold, but from heat and rain as well.
The common advice is to bang on the hood before starting the engine, and snopes.com confirms that a loud noise and vibration like that will startled sleeping animals awake, and will usually get them out of dangerous areas.
