Anderson County High celebrates with prom in downtown streets
LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – Back in January, Anderson County High School students were told they couldn’t have a prom at the school again this year.
That’s because the mayor of Lawrenceburg and some school leaders had come up with a better idea — turn downtown into a prom venue.
And that’s just what they did.
Students embraced the idea and started making their own plans to make a special occasion even more special.
Saturday night, they did just that, literally dancing in the streets while sharing the end-of-the-year tradition with friends and classmates.
It made for a unique end to what already has been a uniqie 2020-21 school year, one that may never be repeated.
The event came complete with a red carpet and special gifts. And students arrived in every way possible, even one-of-a kind race cars that made the night even more memorable.
