Anderson Co. High School graduation rescheduled due to bad weather

ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) -Anderson County High School’s graduation ceremony has been rescheduled for Friday.

The district will be holding two graduation ceremonies at the high school. Graduates will be able to be in the gym for both ceremonies, allowing all seniors to watch their friends graduate.

The first ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 5:15. The graduates who need to attend first session are Adams to Johnson and the Distinguished Bearcats McHugh-Torkelson.

The second ceremony will start at 8 p.m., seating starting at 7:15. The graduates in this session include Jordan-Young and the Distinguished Bearcats Ballard-McDannold.

All graduates will need to be in the Media Center by 5 p.m.

Guests still need a ticket to attend the ceremony, and they will only be good for one session. Tickets will be taken at the door.

Guests can use the front and side entrances to the main building, or walk through the East Wing building to enter.

Shuttles will be available from the East Wing parking lots to the main entrance. The district strongly encourages carpooling if possible.

Anderson County High school officials announced Thursday evening that graduation was cancelled due to bad weather.

“Due to inclement weather including flooding, high waters, downed power lines and trees blocking road ways, the Anderson County High School graduation scheduled for this evening at 6:30 pm is cancelled. We apologize for the short notice however some graduates would not be able to attend graduation and we want to ensure all graduates can attend their high school graduation. Reschedule plans are being made and will be announced in the morning. Thank you for understanding and for your support.”
