McGrath burst onto the national political scene when she ran for Congress in 2018.

She ultimately lost a close race to Republican incumbent Andy Barr.

Health care professional Steven Cox, of Madisonville, is the only declared Democratic candidate in the Senate Race.

Former Representative C. Wesley Morgan, of Richmond, has announced he’s running against McConnell in the Republican primary.

If McGrath wins the Democratic primary and McConnell wins the Republican primary, the two will be running against each other for the Senate seat.
