ALYCIA DAHMER – Reporter

Alycia Dahmer joined ABC 36 in September 2014 as the Show Scheduler.  She books guests for the Good Day Kentucky and the Noon newscasts.  She is also a fill in producer for the morning and noon newscasts.  Alycia made the move to a Reporter in July 2015.  Before coming to WTVQ, Alycia worked in real estate and radio in Fairmont, WV.  She was Ally Gator in the morning on Froggy Country.

Alycia is thrilled to be back in the Bluegrass with her friends and family.  She grew up right here in Lexington and graduated high school from Lexington Christian Academy.  She interned several times in college at WKYT.  While in college, she got her feet wet at WUKY and UK-TV.  Alycia graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in business.  She also went back to school at Mississippi State University and is a certified Meteorologist.

After college, she got her start at WOAY in Oak Hill, West Virginia.  She started as a Weekend Weather Anchor and Reporter.  She quickly moved up to Morning Weather Anchor, and eventually got her own show and the title of Morning News and Weather Anchor.  Alycia met her husband, Jonathan, in Southern West Virginia and they moved up to Northern West Virginia, where she also worked on air in Bridgeport, West Virginia as a reporter.
