Al Safa US recalls more than 2,000 pounds of frozen chicken due to listeria concerns
(ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Al Safa US is recalling more than 2,000 pounds of frozen ready-to-eat chicken products due to potential Listeria contamination, according to a notice from the USDA. Routine testing revealed the presence of Listeria in Al Safa Halal chicken products.
While there have been no reports of illnesses, the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service advises that the recalled chicken should not be consumed. These products were produced in Canada and imported to the US last month.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged to dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase for a refund. For more information, consumers can contact Al Safa US directly.
