AK Steel Ashland Works produces last coil

ASHLAND, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Daily Independent reports that AK Steel’s Ashland Works took another step toward its closure.

The newspaper says the steel plant produced its final coil a little after 10 a.m. Monday.

Of the 260 remaining employees, 184 of them are in their final week at the mill. Seventy-six employees will keep their jobs until December 31, according to the newspaper.
