Agencies searching water near Fayette-Scott County line

UPDATE FROM LEXINGTON FIRE DEPARTMENT 5:12 PM: Dive crews searched the bank area of a pond with sonar, but found nothing. Crews have decided to discontinue the search until more information becomes available as to the reason for the search.

ORIGINAL STORY:

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Multiple emergency crews, including the Lexington Fire Department, are searching a waterway near the Fayette-Scott County line.

The activity is centered around Mt. Horeb Pike, where our team on the scene spotted a small boat being unloaded, possibly to be launched into the water. Several fire department vehicles and other emergency responders are also in the area.

At this time, it’s unclear what authorities are looking for. ABC 36 News Now is in contact with the Lexington Fire Department for more information.
