Advocates push for policies supporting Kentucky children during Children’s Advocacy Week
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Advocates, lawmakers, and community leaders gathered in Frankfort for Children’s Advocacy Week, urging support for policies that benefit Kentucky’s youth.
The event, hosted by Kentucky Youth Advocates, runs through Friday (3-07) and includes both in-person and virtual discussions on key legislative priorities. A rally at the State Capitol took place Wednesday, where Governor Andy Beshear, lawmakers, and child advocates emphasized the importance of continued efforts to improve the well-being of Kentucky’s children.
“Thanks to the work of everybody who’s gutting it out for the inches that become the feet, that become the miles of progress,” Gov. Beshear said. “You might not see every single day the face of a child or multiple children that you’re helping, but I promise you, we’re making gains.”
The week features various events and discussions highlighting child-focused legislation. A full schedule is available at kyyouth.org/caw.
