Adair County Man Convicted on Drug Offenses
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) — According to Attorney General Andy Beshear, an Adair County man was convicted on two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, and for being a persistent felony offender.
Michael L. Taylor of Columbia was found guilty this week, and the Adair County Jury that convicted him recommended he serve a combined sentence of 40 years.
The two-day jury trial was preceded by a Columbia Police Department investigation in 2014, where an informant purchased cocaine from Taylor on two separate occasions. The seized narcotics were then sent to an analyzed by the Kentucky State Police Crime Lab.
“Today, our families are safer based on our efforts,” Beshear said. “Each time we can work with law enforcement to take a drug dealer off our streets, we are helping keep Kentucky families and children safe. I applaud the Columbia Police Department and the members of our team for partnering on this case.”
