Actors’ Playhouse of Georgetown – Pride & Prejudice
The Actors’ Playhouse of Georgetown presents Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” July 27th through July 30th at 401 Outlet Center Drive, Suite 300 in Georgetown.
Pride and Prejudice is the story of the lively, precocious and very eligible Bennet girls. Mr. Bennet of the Longbourn estate has five daughters, but his property is entailed, meaning that none of the girls can inherit it. Since his wife had no fortune, it is imperative that one of the girls marries well in order to support the others on his death. When the wealthy and aloof Mr. Darcy insults Elizabeth at a dance, the tension and romance of their relationship is sparked, while the family beauty Jane attracts the attention of a gentleman presumed to be above her station. Their flirtatious younger sister Lydia lands herself in a steamy scandal that could ruin the reputation and “chances” of all the Bennet Sisters.
Tickets are $12 and can be purchased online at www.actorsplayhousegeorgetown.com or at the door. Show times are July 27th at 7 pm, July 28th at 7 pm, July 29th at 7 pm, and July 30th at 3 pm.
