Accused Cell Phone Shoplifter Also Faces Drug Charges
Richmond Police said what began as a reported shoplifting, turned into an arrest with the suspect facing drug and escape charges.
Investigators said Keith Foster, 22, of Richmond, stole 15 cell phones from a store in the Peddler’s Mall on the Eastern Bypass on December 6, 2014.
Police said Foster put the stolen phones into a bag and hid the bag in a nearby grassy area and returned to the mall.
Police said when the found Foster inside the mall he tried to run away while being searched.
Investigators said they found a small amount of heroin, an oxycodone pill and a marijuana pipe on Foster when they searched him.
He was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
