Accident on I-64 in Scott Co.
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – A driver who fell asleep at the wheel ran into a flat bed truck at mile marker 70 on I-64, according to the Scott Co. Sheriff.
The Sheriff says at around 9:30 a.m., the driver, who was headed westbound, ran off the road and over a median before hitting the truck. 3 people were in the truck, but no one was injured. The sheriff says the driver of the car got out and was able to communicate. He was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Eastbound I-64 was shut down for nearly two hours, creating a major traffic impact. The interstate is now open.
