A Lexington mother is charged with abuse and attempted murder of her 7 month old child

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Aaliyah Walters appeared for her arraignment via Zoom from the Fayette County Detention Center.

She has been charged with first-degree criminal abuse of a child aged 12 or under and attempted murder.

During the arraignment, a public defender was appointed to represent Walters.

She waived a formal arraignment and entered a plea of not guilty to the charges against her.

The court set her bond at $100,000.

Walters’ next court appearance is scheduled for Friday, May 3, at 8:30 a.m.
