Police: Man jumps from overpass, shuts down New Circle Road

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Traffic came to a halt Saturday afternoon after witnesses spotted a man behaving erratically near the intersection of West New Circle and Georgetown Road.

Lexington Police say witnesses told them the man was standing at a bus stop with an infant and a toddler.

Witnesses told police the man’s behavior was odd and stopped to help him.

Police say that bystanders took the children away from the man.

Investigators told ABC 36,  he then walked towards New Circle and jumped off the overpass and fell to his death.

The Coroner confirmed the 29-year-old man died of blunt force trauma.

The Coroner says his office is investigating this case as a suicide.
