Lexington man accused of criminal abuse, victim under 12 years old

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say a Lexington man has been arrested after abusing a child under 12 years old.

22-year-old Jared Brizius was arrested on Wednesday and charged with criminal abuse.

Officers say Brizius had custody of the child on Tuesday, when the abuse occurred.  According to police, the victim was taken to the hospital with injuries to her upper body after Brizius got angry at the child and put his hand around her neck.

Brizius was taken to the Fayette Co. Detention Center.
