Two arrested in connection to Berea car break-ins

BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two Madison Co. men have been arrested after officers say they found several stolen items believed to be taken during car break-ins in the area.

Berea Police say just after four o’clock Monday morning, they were called to Johnson Road on reports of a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway of a vacant home.

Officers found the vehicle and say when they initiated a traffic stop, they found several items in the car, including computers, jewelry, and CD’s.  Other officers in the area also reported that several vehicles bad been broken into.

Police arrested 24-year-old Michael Tackett (above, left) and 27-year old Daniel Richardson and charged them with theft.

The two were taken to the Madison Co. Detention Center.

Police say they were able to return many of the items to the victims.

Investigators say there have been dozens of car break-ins since May. They say there’s usually an uptick in the crime when the weather warms up.
