State senator from Winchester to speak in prime time at GOP Convention

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Republican State Senator Ralph Alvarado of Winchester has been asked to speak in prime time at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday, July 20 around 9:00 p.m., according to a news release from the Republican Party of Kentucky.

“It is an honor to be asked to speak at the convention and to represent Kentucky on the national stage,” Alvarado said. “I strongly believe that the Republican Party is the party of opportunity for voters of all backgrounds, especially Hispanics. I plan to talk about my story as a public servant striving to make my state and nation a land of opportunity for anyone willing to work hard and persevere.”

Ralph Alvarado has been a doctor in Winchester since 1998. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association and Clark County Medical Society, and a member of the Kentucky Medical Association.

Alvarado was elected in 2014, becoming the first Hispanic elected to state office in Kentucky. He is Vice-Chairman of the Health and Welfare Committee in Kentucky’s state Senate.
