4 Palestinian youths wounded in clash with Israeli troops
RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) — A Palestinian hospital director says four Palestinian youths have been wounded in clashes with Israeli forces who were demolishing the West Bank homes of two assailants’ families.
Ramallah hospital director Ahmad Bitawi says one of the youths was seriously wounded.
The Israeli military says the troops were in the Qalandiya refugee camp early on Monday, demolishing the homes of the families of two Palestinians who stabbed and killed two Israelis near Jerusalem’s Old City in December.
The assailants were shot and killed by Israeli guards during the attack.
The army says riots erupted during the demolitions and Palestinian demonstrators opened fire on soldiers, who returned fire toward the “main instigators.”
Over the past nine months, Palestinians have carried out dozens of attacks against Israeli civilians and officers.
