Runners Help Fight Lung Cancer
Runners in Lexington hit the pavement to help fight lung cancer Saturday.
More than 200 people ran to raise money for lung cancer research at the second annual Free to Breathe 5k.
Organizers say since November is lung cancer awareness month, it’s the perfect time to host the fundraiser.
According to Kentucky One Health, Kentucky has one of the highest number of lung cancer cases, and the highest number of related deaths.
Kentucky One Health has brought in about $25,000 so far, but the fundraising will go on until the end of the year.
